Supplements and prescriptions
Vitamins, minerals and herbal products are easy to buy and often feel harmless. But some of them can change how prescription medicine works, which is why our pharmacists always ask what else you take.
Why interactions happen
Certain supplements can speed up or slow down how the body processes medicine, or add to its effects. That can make a medication weaker or stronger than intended.
Questions to ask
Is this supplement safe with my current medication? Should I take it at a different time of day? How long should I take it, and how will I know it is helping?
Keep one up-to-date list
Write down every medicine and supplement you take, including doses, and share it with your doctor and pharmacist at every visit.
How our pharmacy helps
Our pharmacists check every new prescription against your medication history and are happy to review your supplements too, free of charge. The pharmacy is open daily until 22:00.
